I created this platform – OUR platform – to promote mental health awareness and self-development.
When not helping people become a better version of themselves, you can find me doing everything from volunteering and advocacy to trap yoga and hiking. I live life as an endless adventure and make every second count.
I became passionate about mental health and personal development after witnessing how crucial these areas of our lives are. Helping people overcome such hardships is what I live for.
To break sociocultural stigmas regarding mental health issues, I created Legacy Speaks. Our platform focuses on increasing awareness of mental health issues, creating conversations with marginalized communities, and increasing access to local and national resources by advocating for BOTH equality and equity.
I graduated from the University of South Florida (Go Bulls! ???) double majoring in Communication Sciences & Disorders and Psychology. Two years later, I went on to acquire my Masters of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of West Georgia.
Today, I make it a top priority to stay up to date in my field through professional organizations, conferences, continuing education sessions, and journals.
After having a post-graduate crisis, I relocated to metro-Atlanta to start a career in the entertainment industry. I was blessed to work with some of the biggest names and companies to include TVOne, BMI, AspireTV, Dreamworks, (just to name a few).
Despite being so successful at what I did, something was missing. I wanted that sense of fulfillment that comes only helping others. I took a leap of faith and began working towards my true passion, which is becoming a licensed professional counselor.
Simply put: I have acquired the National Certified Counselor credential through NBCC as well as the Associate Professional Counselor licensure.
I’m not going to lie, although it took a lot of hard work to earn them, none of this matter if I’m not capable of doing my job effectively as a counselor.
So just in case you were wondering, I have experience in individual and group counseling in the areas of anger management, assertiveness training, challenging irrational beliefs, substance abuse, and emotional and psychological trauma.
I’m a world changer. My number one goal in life is to create a lasting legacy that inspires growth and development.
One person at a time – that’s how I’m changing the world. I want to influence the culture by empowering others to live their lives with passion and purpose. This is not just a goal, this is how I live my life.
